Today I went to Gosho.

It had been the residence of Japanese emperor family for 700 years.

The main street of Gosho is so broad.

There are many kinds of trees in its garden.

I took this picture at north area of Gosho.

There was cool and scirent.

Access : subway "Karasuma Marutamachi" station northeast - walk 5 min

Oyako-don(Maruki shokudo)

I introduce you not only tourist spot but also gourmet spot in this blog.

Today I introduce a Japanese eating house. It is "Maruki shokudou.Its recommended menu is "Oyako-don set"(Oyako-don:a bowl of rice topped with chicken and eggs). This set contains a Oyakodon, a bowl of soba and a dish. You can eat it 850 yen.

It is located the east end of Nishiki market.

Ginkakuji temple ~ Nanzenji temple

Today I introduce you ”Ginkakuji - Okazaki” area.

1st spot : Ginkakuji temple

2nd spot : Tetsugaku no michi(philosophy road)

3rd spot : Nanzenji temple

1st spot : Ginkakuji temple

This temple was built at 1482.

There is a national treasure "Ginkaku"(left photo) and "Toukyudo".

You can feel Japanese beauty of silence.

Access : Kyoto City Bus #5 line (from Kyoto station and Kawaramati station)

2nd spot : Tetsugaku no michi

There are about 600 cherry trees along a brook.

This road starts from Ginkakuji temple to Nanzenji temple.

The length of this road is 1.5 km.

3rd spot : Nanzenji temple

The last spot is Nanzenji temple.

You can walk up to the building called "Sammon".

KYOTO CHERRY SPOTS

The season of cherry blossom will come soon.In Kyoto, we can see cherry blossoms in many place.Today I tell you the most popular spot of cherry blossom.

No1: Maruyama Park

This park is located on the east of Yasaka shrine.In this park, cherry trees are lit up during the flower bloom.(This year, until April 15th)We can go there on foot from "Shijyo Kasaramachi station"(Keihan line) or "Kawaramachi station"(Hankyu line)

No.2:Kiyomizu Temple

This is one of the most famous temple in Kyoto.This temple is lit up too until April 12th.It costs 40~60 minutes from Maruyama Park to this temple on foot.But I recommend you to go there from Maruyama Park on foot because there are many beautiful sight along the way.

No.3:Ninnaji Temple

The cherry trees in this temple bloom one or two weeks later than other spots.They will be in full bloom in middle of April every year.This temple is northwest area of Kyoto.You can go there by bus or local train "Keihuku Dentetsu".I recommend you to go there by this train because many cherry trees are planted along the railway as if a tunnel of cherry.
